Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the spectacular mid-summer weather and feast of events and activities that this place has to offer!
With the Ride Sun Valley festival freshly in the rearview mirror, we wanted to give a little recap of a few things and also give you some updates on upcoming events.
Bald Mountain Trail Work Day – Thursday July 26, 4-7 p.m.
Be at the River Run base area and ready to go by 4 p.m. Tools will be provided. We would recommend bringing your mountain bike, but it’s not required! We are going to help fix up the section of the Bald Mtn. trail that was used in the Super D at nationals. We’ll take the gondola up and either walk over or ride to this particular section of trail. All volunteers will receive a one day pass good until the end of the summer season!

Rebecca Rusch is the only woman to win the Leadville Trail 100 three times in a row. In 2011, for the second year in a row, she set a new course record (breaking her own from the year before). This is the bike it was done on. Now it can be yours! Elkhorn Springs Fundraiser Reception
On Thursday evening during the Ride Sun Valley festival, we hosted a VIP reception that was also a fundraiser for us. Our goal was two-fold. We wanted to highlight a unique moment cycling history for the Wood River Valley. In attendance were all of the top XC pros including the entire Olympic MTB Team that will be competing in London next month. We also wanted to launch our fundraising efforts toward hiring a part-time Director and funding a trail crew. Our goal is $60K and we were able to raise nearly half of it that evening. We would like to say “Thank You” to all of the WRBC volunteers who helped put the whole thing together!
