Fox Peak Trail Work Day – Part II – October 7

Fox Peak Trail Work Day – Meet at the Adams Gulch Trailhead and be ready to go by 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 7.

We’ll be working on completing a reroute that we started earlier this summer on the Adams Gulch Trail (a.k.a. Fox Peak ride). This projects addresses a section of the trail where the trail tread has deteriorated into a rutted, steep descent through an open field. If you’ve ridden the Fox Peak ride this summer, you’ve probably noticed the first section of this project that we completed back in June.

The first part of the reroute being built earlier this summer by volunteers

Using the Rokons (yes we have two now!), we’ll be shuttling equipment and supplies in to the work site. Volunteers will want to ride mountain bikes to the work site by riding the Adams Gulch Loop to the top and then heading up the Adams Gulch Trail. The work site is approximately 1.5 miles above the junction with the Adams Gulch Loop.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring additional clothing and shoes to work in. We’ll shuttle those up to the work site on the Rokon. You can get a nice ride in, do some trail work, and finish the day with a long descent back to the Adams Gulch Trailhead.
We’ll plan on working until @ 5 p.m. We’ll have burgers, brats, and beverages back at the trailhead afterward. Come join us!
